Hotel Rwanda reflection
This is the second time i watched Hotel Rwanda. When i first watched it, i felt like i had to do something and wrote letters for other countries in war at the time and told my family members. However, it has been two years and i have forgotten all about things other than my immediate surroundings in my life. In the movie, the camera man said something like how the world will see horrible things such as genocide or mass killings, say how sad and sorry they feel and continue on eating their dinners. When i heard this while watching the movie this time, i realized how i have become what he said even after i tried not to be like that two years ago. This movie was a reminder not to forget about people less fortunate than me and to lend a helping hand. I should do what i want people to do for me if i was in their situation. I realized how insignificant peoples lives really are. Hundreds of thousands of people died, and were forgotten, and unproperly buried. I could have been one of them, im lucky i was born in a different place at a different time. However, this movie was biased. They sided with the Tutsies and not the Hutu's at all.

I agree. We should all try to help when those around us are in trouble. All the European countries were scooping out their citizens and were not even trying to help Rwanda. I felt dreadful and ashamed that the world had been so ignorant and thought Rwanda as an insignificant country. I also agree with your opinion on how we should think about the situation we are in. We should be thankful of what God has given us. Comparing to many people in this world, we are so much fortunate and blessed. I felt this not only by watching this movie, but also through a mission trip that I went to during spring break to Philippines:)
Overall, great reflection;)
