Hotel Rwanda reflection

This is the second time i watched Hotel Rwanda. When i first watched it, i felt like i had to do something and wrote letters for other countries in war at the time and told my family members. However, it has been two years and i have forgotten all about things other than my immediate surroundings in my life. In the movie, the camera man said something like how the world will see horrible things such as genocide or mass killings, say how sad and sorry they feel and continue on eating their dinners. When i heard this while watching the movie this time, i realized how i have become what he said even after i tried not to be like that two years ago. This movie was a reminder not to forget about people less fortunate than me and to lend a helping hand. I should do what i want people to do for me if i was in their situation. I realized how insignificant peoples lives really are. Hundreds of thousands of people died, and were forgotten, and unproperly buried. I could have been one of them, im lucky i was born in a different place at a different time. However, this movie was biased. They sided with the Tutsies and not the Hutu's at all.

Rwanda

i have never felt any hatred or bad feelings towards president clinton until reading about Rwanda and the genocide and watching Hotel Rwanda. Before i knew about the genocide in Rwanda, i thought Clinton didnt accomplish anything great but didnt do anything bad so he was okay. Now that I know how much he cared about poor countries in Africa where thousands of people were being slaughtered, which was almost nothing, i strongly dislike him. Now i don't want Mrs. Clinton to be the president. I hope Obama wins instead. Many other countries ignored the genocide and situation in Rwanda. I was saddened by how they didnt think of those people as the same as their people. If the same situation that happened in Rwanda happened in a country like France, many countries would help solve the issue, including the USA. We are all people and we feel the same and we all have the same emotions. They were scared and whites would be scared too if a machette was put to their head. I think every country no matter how rich or poor they are should care for eachother. I think the government likes to control the media in a way that wont show how heartless the government is towards anything; in this case, the response to a genocide in another country.
